Black Rock (2022)

‘In time and with water, everything changes’ ~ Leonardo Da Vinci

‘Black Rock’  (2022) is a diorama project created during my first year of university, inspired by the Black Rock Jetty pier. This piece explores themes of peace, nostalgia, and the passage of time. It tells the story of a couple meeting at the pier, embarking on a journey through the cycles of life and death. The concept centers on the idea that, while change is inevitable, the ocean and sky remain constant. For me, the ocean symbolizes a place of reflection and meditation, and standing on the pier feels like being on the edge of the world, reminding us of our place in the vastness of existence.
